Megan Thee Stallion‘s new year kicked off with the best company in the world — Beyoncé and Blue Ivy, but not everyone can agree that Bey’s oldest child looks like mom. The “Hot Girl” rapper posed alongside the “Run The World (Girls)” singer and her almost 8-year-old mini-me for Bey and Jay-Z‘s New Year’s Eve party on Tuesday. Following the party pics, several people took it upon themselves to critique the couple’s oldest child’s looks and suggest she may be forced to get plastic surgery later in life.
The Party Pics:
“Happy 2020,” Megan Thee Stallion captioned the sweet photos. She also added a rock hand emoji to capture the monumental musical moment with hip-hop’s royal family. In the first snap, the “Hot Girl” rapper is seen throwing up her rocker pose while Beyoncé strikes a mean mug in a party hat. Blue Ivy is seen with straight hair and looking stunning, just like her mama. In the second photo, Megan Thee Stallion smiles big and Beyoncé is blowing kisses to the camera. Her daughter is smiling too and we can see she’s missing some top teeth.
Blue Ivy Attacked:
While Beyoncé’s daughter is only 7 years old and looking more like her Grammy-winning mom each day, Blue Ivy’s NYC look didn’t go without criticism. Believe it or not, she was dissed by two journalists (one was from Harper’s Magazine and the other from Vanity Fair). “I have a feeling the jay z face genes are about to really hit Blue Ivy and I feel so sorry for her,” the Vanity Fair writer tweeted. Or she’ll just get plastic surgery at 16 a la Kylie Jenner and we’ll all have to pretend that she always looked that way…I can’t allow myself to feel too sorry for the incredibly rich!” replied the Harper’s Magazine editor.
Critics Issue Apologizes:
After their tweets made the rounds, fans were furious. Following the backlash, both journalists immediately issued apologies. “I’m sorry about the Blue Ivy tweet — bad joke, and black girls in particular deserve better,” the Vanity Fair writer wrote. The Harper’s Magazine editor said, “Sorry I was cleaning my apartment while this blew up…children of famous ought to be off limits, but time and again they haven’t been. So I said something petty and have been called ugly, old, and a racist.” She later added, “Sorry that I insulted Beyoncé’s daughter by suggesting that she might get plastic surgery some day, like many children of famous people do.”
