EXCLUSIVE: Titan Books Announces NO TIME TO DIE: THE MAKING OF THE FILM

Get ready to go behind the scenes of the motion picture formerly known as BOND 25.

The BMD crew has been blown away this year by Titan Books’ gorgeous The Making Of Alien and Making Moon, and so it is with great honour we can reveal that next in line for the Titan treatment is the forthcoming James Bond film No Time To Die. Better still, you won’t have to wait long after the film hits cinema screens in April before feasting on all that behind-the-scenes goodness!

Over to you, press release:

“Titan Books is delighted to announce a new collaboration with EON Productions to publish the official making of book for No Time To Die, the 25th official James Bond 007 film.

In Daniel Craig’s 5th outing as 007, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology. Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation), the film stars returning cast members Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Léa Seydoux, Rory Kinnear and Jeffrey Wright. It will introduce Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen and Rami Malek.

This lavish coffee table hardback takes readers behind the scenes of the 25th official James Bond film and reveals the locations, characters, gadgets, weapons, and cars of No Time To Die, with exclusive on-set photography, concept art, costume designs, and more, accompanied by cast and crew interviews.

Written by New York Times best-selling author Mark Salisbury, No Time To Die: The Making of the Film is set to publish in hardback on April 14 2020, priced at $50 and £39.99.”

Mark Salisbury will be familiar to UK readers as a former editor of Empire magazine, and has also written books in Titan’s The Art of the Film series on Prometheus, Elysium and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Equally, London-based Titan Books is no stranger to the Bond franchise, republishing classic 007 comic strip adventures since 1987 and also publishing the 2011 autobiography of Vic Armstrong, veteran Bond stunt performer/coordinator and second unit director.

We don’t have any images from the book to show you just yet but we can share its jacket art, complete with the movie’s bold title treatment set in lightly-modified Futura Black:

The production footage we’ve already seen suggests No Time To Die is going to be visually stunning, and on the strength of Titan’s recent film-related books No Time To Die: The Making of the Film promises to be an essential purchase, not to mention a vital contribution to the long history of insights into the process of bringing Bond to the screen as Daniel Craig dons the tux once again.

Watch this space, because we’ll be tracking this one closely in the run-up to publication.
